Asia
Our theme changed last week to Asia. We have been having too much fun with this new theme. Your children have experimented with chopsticks, written and spoke in different languages, tasted new and interesting foods, and learned about another couple cultures! Here is a quick glimpse into some of our fun in the last week:

Making Cookies
If there is one activity that ALL of the kids are super into, it is cooking. They get so excited when any one of the teachers brings out ingredients, and they are happy to taste test any of the resulting creations. We have a HUGE list of recipes that we have used this year from kale chips to smoothies and soup to cookies. Here is a great tasting cookie that the cupcakes made a couple weeks ago.
*They used peanut butter, but any nut butter or nut alternative spread will work!
*It is easy to cut down the sugar in this recipe by replacing some with dates or bananas.
1 Cup peanut butter*
1 Cup brown sugar*
1 tsp vanilla
1 large egg
Preheat oven to 350
Mix ingredients until combined
Spoon 1 Tbs mixture about 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets
Flatten mounds a bit
Bake about 7-9 min.
Do not over bake. They will become crumbly and fall apart (though they still taste delicious).

SNOW!
Our winter, this year, has been lacking in actual winter weather. But, when we do have snow on the ground, we take full advantage!!!
On this day, the weather outside was warm enough to spend a long time trying hard to build snowmen! We practices rolling big balls, stacking them up, and even making faces on them... until they realized they could eat the "decorations". Then we just had a nice cold cracker snack!

Valentine Party
We had so much fun celebrating Valentine's Day with all of your special little ones! We set up a few different special activities and had an awesome snack - thanks to your generosity! The kids got to paint hearts with water colors to discover hidden messages, play a fun Valentine themed bingo game, toss bean bags through a couple heart cut outs, and use cookie cutters to make some lovely artwork!
Here is what our days looked like:
