It's time for Slime!! Our new theme at Harmony Preschool is discovering Outer Space. A great way to celebrate our new theme is by making slime with your Preschooler. This recipe is sticky, gooey and oh so fun!
Ingredients
- Water
- Elmer's Glue (white liquid school glue)
- Borax (can be found in the laundry detergent aisle of most grocery stores)
- Food Coloring
Directions
- In one bowl mix 1/2 cup of water with 4 oz. of Elmer's glue (most containers are 4 oz. so you will just want to squeeze out as much as possible from the bottle). Stir everything together until it is nice and smooth. Set this mixture aside.
- In another bowl mix 1/4 cup of very warm water (heat in microwave for about 1 minute and 30 seconds) with 2 teaspoons of Borax. The water needs to be warm enough that the Borax will completely dissolve when stirred.
- Add the desired amount of food coloring to the water and Borax mixture. You want to make it much darker than you intend for the end result because it will lighten a lot when mixed with the glue.
- Stirring the water and glue mixture constantly, add the water and Borax mixture in. Stir for a minute or two until it is starting to all come together.
- Mix everything together with your hands until it forms a solid ball and has absorbed most of the water.
